Dear Parents and Carers
CONGRATULATIONS TESS MCKENZIE!
Trinity received official correspondence yesterday from NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) that Tess McKenzie's (Year 12-2022) major body of work has been selected for ARTEXPRESS, as part of the HSC Showcase season in 2023. ARTEXPRESS is an annual series of exhibitions of exemplary artworks created by New South Wales visual arts students for the Higher School Certificate examination. It is an amazing achievement to be nominated for this prestigious exhibition. This is the second year in a row that a Trinity student has had their artwork selected for ARTEXPRESS. Tess' artwork will be on display at the Art Gallery of NSW. We are very proud of you, Tess!
COMMUNITY COUNCIL 2023-2024
Congratulations to Angela Remington, Rick Shipp, Melissa McKellar and Jade Marks who nominated to be parent representatives on the Trinity Community Council for 2023-2024. Because there have been no further nominations, there is no need for elections and they will continue in their current positons. I thank them for their commitment and dedication to the Trinity community and look forward to working with them again over the next two years.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP 2023 INDUCTION CEREMONY
After three years, parents and grandparents were on campus to see their children inducted into their leadership positions for 2023. We were even able to share a cup of tea afterwards. Thank you to Mrs Suro and Mrs Dorsett for their coordination of this induction ceremony. Congratulations to our 2023 student leaders who were inducted into their respective positions. We are truly blessed. I know they will serve Trinity Catholic College well. Each will inspire us to live lives enriched by faith, strength and unity. We look forward to working with our new student leaders
STAFF FAREWELLS
At the end of this school year, we farewell the following staff and thank them for their enormous contribution and service to the community of Trinity Catholic College Goulburn.
Mr Steve Dunn
Thank you to Mr Dunn for his service to the Trinity community. Mr Dunn has been with us for twelve months working as a PDHPE and Computing Technology teacher. in a temporary position. Staff really appreciated Mr Dunn running the staff footy tipping competition over winter. Hopefully, Mr Dunn will continue to work as a casual relief teacher at Trinity in the future.
Mr James Dyring
Mr Dyring has worked at Trinity as a Classroom Support Assistant over the last two years diligently fulfilling this role and he was always a ready hand when we were distributing rapid antigen tests. Whenever Trinity had after hours events, Mr Dyring was always there to lend a hand. We wish him all the very best as he moves up the coast to continue working as a classroom support assistant.
Miss Naomi Gill
Thank you to Miss Naomi Gill who is leaving Trinity having taught here for the last 16 years with the exception of 2020. Trinity was Miss Gill’s first school to which she was appointed as an early career teacher. Over the years, Miss Gill has taught in the PDHPE and VET faculties. As well, Miss Gill has been a very knowledgeable Careers Coordinator advising students of vocational and university pathway opportunities. Miss Gill has accepted a Careers Coordinator position at another Archdiocesan school in Canberra. We wish her well in her new adventure.
Mrs Ruth Lewis
After twenty two years of serving the Trinity community, Mrs Lewis has decided it is time for retirement, and to spend more time with her family. Mrs Lewis has imparted her love of English and Drama to many hundreds of students, and teaching colleagues, over thirty years of dedicated service. Mrs Lewis has worked at Trinity since its foundational year in 2000. More recently Mrs Lewis retired from the role of RICE House Coordinator. Mrs Lewis has always been committed and dedicated to the care and wellbeing of our students and for this we are very grateful. Hopefully Mrs Lewis will return to be a casual relief teacher in her retirement.
Mr Andrew Morton
Thank you to Mr Morton who has been our Assistant Principal for Administration and Pastoral Care over the last two years. Mr Morton was often seen at Trinity Rugby on a Saturday helping out running the line. This was much appreciated by the students and the Trinity Rugby Club. We wish him all the very best as he commences in a new Assistant Principal position within the Archdiocese but closer to home.
Mrs Sandra South
Thank you to Mrs South who cleaned our school for a number of years. Mrs South has diligently cleaned Trinity for many years but she has decided it is time to try new things and hang up her cleaning cloths. We will miss Mrs South’s smile and ready humour.
Again, thank you to our teachers and support staff who are leaving Trinity at the end of the year. Each has had a positive impact on Trinity and its students; we will miss them. To each of them, we extend the Irish Blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
2022 YEARBOOK
Congratulations to Mr Mark Carroll for coordinating the photos and articles for the 2022 Yearbook. It is a wonderful memory of the events of this year and I commend it to all. It will be distributed to families before the end of term...hopefully!
YEARS 7-11 END OF YEAR AWARDS PRESENTATION
The end of year Awards Presentation Assembly will be held on Monday 12 December 2022 commencing at 9.30am. Parents are warmly invited to attend.
2023 PLANNING
A request to any 7-11 families moving from Trinity Catholic College at the end of this year, it would greatly assist our preparation for 2023 if you would send an email to Renee Funnell, renee.funnell@cg.catholic.edu.au, as soon as possible indicating your intentions along with your destination. It is important our student numbers are accurate for 2023. Thank you to those families who have already contacted the school about their intentions for 2023.
Enjoy the weekend with your family.
Yours in faith strength and unity
Gaye McManus

The College should be notified of any foreseen student leave. An Application for Exemption Form is available from the College Office and is required to be completed by parents/carers and returned to the College at least 10 school days prior to any leave. Leave or travel over 10 days requires a different form; please contact Reception. If, during the period of leave, your child has assessments due they should also complete the Notification of Planned Absence form which is in the appendix of their student assessment handbook.
When your child needs to leave School early, please make sure they complete the following steps:
1. A written note signed from their parent/carer. This note can be made in the Student diary on the day of the planned absence, or on a separate piece of paper.
2. The student then takes the note to Homeroom and asks their Homeroom teachers to sign it.
3. The note must also be signed by a House Coordinator.
4. The student comes to the front office with their signed note.
5. Students sign out using their Student Compass Identity card.
6. Students wait for parent/carer to collect them.
Please note, parent or carer MUST present to the Office to collect student.
