Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Students
STAFF FAREWELLS
At the end of this school year, we farewell the following staff and thank them for their enormous contribution and service to the community of Trinity Catholic College Goulburn.
Mrs Rebecca Dillon
Thank you to Mrs Rebecca Dillon who has worked with us this year replacing Miss Naomi Gill as Careers Advisor. Mrs Dillon provided support in the Open Learning Centre and was McAuley 4 Homeroom Teacher.
Miss Elizabeth Graham
Thank you to Miss Liz Graham for her work as a Learning Support Teacher in the Trinity community over a number of years. In 2021, Liz was on parental leave and has made the decision to not return to Trinity next year.
Mr Garry Hol
Mr Hol has been working at Trinity for the last fifteen months. Since he has been at Trinity, Mr Hol has taught English, Business Studies and Music. Mr Hol has involved himself in the liturgical life of the school supporting our students with music liturgy at our prayer services as well. We wish him well in his move to a new school.
Mrs Anne Keene
Mrs Keene has been at Trinity since 2000 when the College was established. She began her working life at Trinity as a classroom support assistant whilst she was studying to be a teacher. Mrs Keene has taught English, Drama and HSIE and was also the Creative and Performing Arts Coordinator for a period of time. Over many years, Mrs Keene and her husband, Nick, were on the sidelines of Wexted watching and cheering on the Trinity students playing rugby. It is time now for Mrs Keene to be with her grandchildren.
Mr Shane McCarthy
Mr McCarthy has been teaching at Trinity Catholic College since 2000 as well. He has taught HSIE, Commerce and Legal Studies, and has dedicated many years to managing Trinity rugby teams. Mr McCarthy also spent some time as the HSIE Coordinator when the College was on two campuses. Mr McCarthy lays claim to Mrs Keene being his apprentice all those years ago! We will see Mr McCarthy back around the College next year as he takes up the role of casual relief teacher. RICE House will not be the same without Mr McCarthy and Mrs Keene.
Mrs Linda Polosak
Thank you to Mrs Linda Polosak who returned to her previous position of Teacher Librarian in a temporary capacity. Trinity was in need of a Teacher Librarian and Mrs Polosak responded to that need. I am so grateful she said yes! Mrs Polosak is looking forward to seeing her grandchildren again.
Mr Paul Roodenrys
Mr Roodenrys is thanked for his dedication to Trinity as he has completed a number of temporary teaching contracts this year. We will see Roodenrys back around the College next year as he takes up the role of casual relief teacher.
Mr Xiang Lei Wang
Thank you to Mr Wang for the many times he prepared experiments for our students. Mr Wang has been with us for nearly four years as a Science Laboratory Assistant. He has taken up a position in another Catholic systemic school.
Mr Paul Zucchetto
Thank you to Mr Paul Zucchetto who started working at Trinity as a classroom support assistant. He finished his teacher training and then began teaching at Trinity on a temporary contract. Paul was often seen at Trinity Rugby on a Saturday helping out by managing and coaching. We wish him all the very best as he commences in a new teaching position in Canberra.
Again, thank you to our teachers and support staff who are leaving Trinity at the end of the year. Each has had a positive impact on Trinity and its students, and their colleagues; we will miss them. To each of them, we extend the Irish Blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
2021 YEARBOOK
Congratulations to Mr Mark Carroll for coordinating the photos and articles for the 2021 Yearbook. It is a wonderful memory of the events of this year and I commend it to all. It will be distributed to families before the end of term! Please note it will be a thinner publication than usual due to COVID restricting many sporting events.
YEARS 7-11 END OF YEAR AWARDS PRESENTATION
The end of year Awards Presentation Assembly will be held on Monday 13 December 2021 commencing at 9.30am. Unfortunately we will not be able to invite parents onto campus due to COVID restrictions. Whilst we will be returning to face-to-face College Assemblies by then, we cannot fit in parents as well due to COVID physical distance restrictions. If parents would like to register to attend via MS Teams, please complete the link below. The MS Teams link will be emailed to you on Friday 10 December.

2022 PLANNING
A request to any 7-11 families moving from Trinity Catholic College at the end of this year, it would greatly assist our preparation for 2022 if you would send an email to Kristie Miners, kristie.miners@cg.catholic.edu.au, as soon as possible indicating your intentions along with your destination. It is important our student numbers are accurate for 2022. Thank you for assisting us with this information gathering.
Enjoy the weekend with your family. Keep safe and stay well.
May God bless you and your family

SCHOOL TV: HAVING THE ALCOHOL DISCUSSION
SPECIAL REPORT: Having the Alcohol Discussion
With the impending festive season and end of school celebrations, some teenagers may be feeling ready to party, wanting to put the disruptions, frustrations and disappointments of this past year, behind them.
To ensure our young people stay safe during this time, parents and carers are encouraged to have the alcohol discussion - no matter how difficult or overwhelming it may be. It is important to outline the rules and boundaries around age-appropriate alcohol consumption and what the legal implications may be.
Young people are at greater risk of alcohol-related harm than adults because their brains continue to develop until their mid-twenties. The safest level of alcohol consumption for teenagers, is no alcohol at all, but this may be difficult to enforce and may not prevent them from experimenting. However, parents and carers can influence sensible drinking habits and help minimise the risks.
In this Special Report, a series of discussion points are offered to help make the conversation about alcohol consumption a little easier. We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this Special Report, and as always, we welcome your feedback.
If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact the school for further information or seek medical or professional help.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CLINTON STREET WORKS
Goulburn Mulwaree Council will be removing the existing footpath on Clinton Street and replacing it with a new wider footpath.
Work will commence on Thursday 25 November 2021 and finish on Sunday 28 November 2021. The crossing and walkway into the College will remain uninterrupted but the remainder of footpath will be closed off.
Parents dropping off students will need to be careful. Students will need to walk along the gutter to the College crossing and entrance.
Hello again from the Goulburn Show Society.
The show will be held on 5 and 6 March 2022. Again thank you for your interest and participation in the 2021 show and look forward to your involvement in 2022.
