Dear Parents and Carers
YEAR 12 GRADUATION MASS, ASSEMBLY AND DINNER
Finally. we farewelled Year 12-2021 students with their parents and carers. We had two amazing days which culminated in the Graduation Dinner on Tuesday evening. Year 12 students have been outstanding this year with everything they have had to endure. We wish them well in their future journey in life. Thank you to Fr Joshy, Mr Groves and Mrs Dorsett for celebrating and preparing the Valete Mass. Thank you to Mrs Suro and Mrs Miners for their coordination of the Assembly and Dinner. There were many highlights at the Dinner but the most memorable highlight will be the attendance of a Japanese Samurai warrior also known as Riley Webb. Everyone was their authentic selves. Goodbye Year 12 and we wish you lots of love for the next exciting chapter.
ARTEXPRESS 2022
Last Friday at 4.41pm, I received an email from the NSW Education Authority which stated that Kaitlyn Mateta’s (Year 12-2021) art work ‘Stop the Spread’ had been selected for ARTEXPRESS 2022. The last time Trinity had an artwork selected for ARTEXPRESS was 2012. Kaitlyn’s artwork will be displayed during 2022 online at the Virtual Exhibition as well as the Art Gallery of NSW, Tweed Regional Gallery and the Margaret Olley Art Centre. Congratulations to Kaitlyn. An amazing achievement. Congratulations to Mrs Clare Cummins, Kaitlyn’s Art teacher. Clare has high expectations of her students, with high support and encouragement but also accountability. Clare was not going to allow them to use COVID as an excuse for underperforming. Only 109 art pieces were selected for ARTEXPRESS 2022.
YEAR 7-2022 ORIENTATION DAY
Finally, we were able to welcome half of our incoming Year 7-2022 students last week. We had a lovely time; they were such a peaceful and calm group with lots of happy, smiling faces. The day had to be COVID-safe so parents were dropping off and collecting their children at the Addison Street Bus Stop. Parents were not able to attend but we did have an MS Teams meeting with them a few weeks ago. We were not able to have our Year 11 students involved but the College Student Leadership team welcomed our new students via video. Rather than the sorting hat this year, students had to eat a cup cake (prepared lovingly by Mrs Treloar) to find out which House was theirs for the next six years. It was a different style of Orientation again to last year but it was very exciting in a new and refreshing way. We have a great team at Trinity and my thanks to Mr Paul Treloar, Mrs Kristie Miners, Mr Chris Arnold, Mr Mark Burke, Mr John Galiazzo, Mrs Shelley O’Brien, Mr Andrew Morton, Mr Mark Carroll and Mrs Katie Suro. Thank you to Jason and Justin for their excellent work in maintenance support. Events such as this cannot occur without the commitment of all our staff. We love what we do and we love doing it together. COVID did not stop us from having the best time! We are looking forward to welcoming more Year 7-2022 students tomorrow for our next Orientation session.
YEAR 7-11 REPORTS
Before the end of term, you will receive your child’s report. Please sit with them and talk through the challenges and joys in their learning during 2021. Our students have worked under extraordinary pressure this year due to COVID, and I thank them for their commitment to their studies. They had to adjust to remote learning again for a much longer period, which was a challenge for many. It has not been the easiest of years but everyone has got through it. This must be acknowledged and applauded. Congratulations to all our students on their achievements and the progress they have made.
YEARS 7-11 END OF YEAR AWARDS PRESENTATION
The end of year Awards Presentation Assembly will be held next Monday 13 December 2021 commencing at 9.30am for Year 7 and 8, 10.30am for Year 9 and 10, and 12.00pm for Year 11 students. Unfortunately we will not be able to invite parents onto campus due to COVID restrictions. If parents would like to register to attend via MS teams, please complete the link below. The MS Teams link will be emailed to you tomorrow Friday 10 December.
A BLESSING FOR DEPARTING FAMILIES
The Trinity community wishes all our departing families every blessing as they move to a new learning community or their children have finished their secondary education.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
(Traditional Gaelic blessing)
As this is the last Trinity Talk for the year, thank you to every magnificent family for their support over 2021. Thank you to our staff and our students for their hard work in challenging circumstances. It has been an extraordinary year for students, staff and parents. It has not been an easy road but with courage and determination, we did get through it together. We have a really kind and caring community who watches out for each other. Go gently into this holiday break; it is so well deserved.
Please remember the McCue family in your prayers this Advent season as we approach Luke's first anniversary on 20 December.
May you and your families have a happy and Holy Christmas in this year of Our Lord, 2021 and may the peace of the Infant Child truly be with you every day.
Keep safe and stay well. Enjoy the season of Christmas and New Year. Happy holidays!
May God bless you and your family
Gaye McManus
Principal
A CHRISTMAS BLESSING
May there be harmony in all your relationships.
May sharp words, envious thoughts, and hostile feelings be dissolved.
May you give love and receive generously.
May this love echo in your heart like joy of church bells on a warm December day.
May each person who comes into your life be greeted as another Christ.
May the honour given the babe of Bethlehem be that which you extend to
every guest who enters your presence.
May the hope of this sacred season settle in your soul.
May it be a foundation for courage for you when times of distress occupy your inner land. May the wonder and awe that fills the eyes of children be awakened within you.
May it lead you to renewed awareness and appreciation of whatever you too easily
take for granted.
May you go often to the Bethlehem of your heart and visit the One who offers peace.
May you bring this peace into our world.
Amen

Our new school administration system, COMPASS (which replaced SENTRAL), has been rolled out gradually over the course of this term. At the beginning of next year, we will provide access to the parent portal. Parents will have access to their child's timetable, absences, community calendar and eventually online reporting. Further information will be provided in 2022.
When your child needs to leave School early, please make sure they complete the following steps:
1. A written note signed from their parent/carer. This note can be made in the Student diary on the day of the planned absence, or on a separate piece of paper.
2. The student then takes the note to Homeroom and asks their Homeroom teachers to sign it.
3. The note must also be signed by a House Coordinator.
4. The student comes to the front office with their signed note.
5. Front office staff assist student to sign out.
6. Students wait for parent/carer to collect them.
Please note, parent or carer MUST present to the Office to collect student.
The College should be notified of any foreseen student leave. An Application for Exemption Form is available from the College Office and is required to be completed by parents/carers and returned to the College at least 10 school days prior to any leave. Leave or travel over 10 days requires a different form; please contact Reception. If, during the period of leave, your child has assessments due they should also complete the Notification of Planned Absence form which is in the appendix of their student assessment handbook.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
We love to hear about our students' achievements, so please feel free to send through any information about your child's achievements to info.tccg@cg.catholic.edu.au by Tuesday of each week. We look forward to hearing from you! Also, be sure to visit our facebook site!
