STUDENT NEWS: EAMON SHEIL MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP
Congratulations to Eamon Sheil, Year 8, has been succesful in obtaining a Junior Scholarship at the Hume Conservatorium following an outstanding performance at the 2022 Scholarship Auditions. Well done Eamon! We wish you all the best for your upcoming musical studies and performances!
STUDENT NEWS: ACT U13's HOCKEY SQUAD
Congratulations to Cameron Schultz and Eamon Sheil who have both been selected in the ACT U13's Hockey Squad to compete in the National Championships being held at Newcastle in April.
Congratualtions boys, all the best for the Championships in April!
- The School Swimming Carnival will be held tomorrow Friday 11 February 2022.
- Students are required to arrive before 8:45am and are to see their homeroom teacher located in their Year Group area to have their name marked off for attendance. Entry into the pool is included in school fees.
- Attendance and participation for all students is compulsory - Championship and Non - Championship Events available.
- PE Uniform is to be worn to and from the carnival - you may change into house colours once the roll has been marked.
- Students should ensure they wear hats and sunscreen, in line with the College ‘Sun Safe’ policy.
- Students should bring a packed lunch and drink. Alternatively, the Pool canteen will be available to purchase selected food items. Due to COVID and limited pool space, there will be no BBQ offered this year. NO TAKE AWAY FOOD is to be ordered and delivered.
- Due to COVID restrictions spectators will not be allowed to attend. If you would like to be a parent volunteer on the day, please contact Miss Broadhead via email sophie.broadhead@cg.catholic.edu.au
- Due to the large number of events scheduled for the day, the limited time available and the fact that local bus lines are beholden to existing contracted routes and unable to alter these, Goulburn based students are expected to make their own way to-and-from the Aquatic centre for the carnival. Whilst it is also desirable for students from out-of-town areas to make their own way to-and-from the Aquatic Centre, we realise that in many cases this will be difficult. As such, out-of-town students will be offered a shuttle bus service to and from the College, enabling them to utilise usual bus services in the morning and afternoon. Further information will be provided regarding this service.
- The 2022 Long Distance Carnival will be held next Wednesday 16 February from 12:30pm - 3:30pm
- THIS IS A CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT ONLY Please NOTE: Students have to pre-register for the Long Distance Carnival via the Google Forms https://forms.gle/WCZkFqEBce2VgwEc8
- A shuttle bus will be available to transport swimmers to the Swimming Pool on the day.
- Canteen available.
- Due to COVID restrictions no spectators will be allowed. If you would like to volunteer as a parent helper for the day, please contact Sophie Broadhead via email sophie.broadhead@cg.catholic.edu.au
- Full PE Uniform and appropriate Racewear required.

Dear Parents,
RE: Upcoming Webinar for Parents - How to Get (and Keep) Your Child Motivated
We’re excited to announce that parents of our school have exclusive access to Elevate Education’s Parent Webinar Series this year. Elevate works with our students, delivering high impact workshops on study skills, motivation, wellbeing, and exam preparation. By tuning into their webinar series, you will learn how to better support your children at home through reinforcing the skills they learn at school.
Wednesday 23rd February @ 6:00pm:
How to Get (and Keep) Your Child Motivated
|
In How to Get (and Keep) Your Child Motivated, Elevate will provide you with the tips and tools for how to get (and keep!) your child motivated. Including:
- The causes of student demotivation;
- Specific goals that actually cause demotivation;
- How you can help your child set goals that will help them get (and stay) motivated;
- The role parents play in motivation.
I gave some feedback to my daughter’s school about how impressed I have been with the webinars - so much useful information and tips relating to education and also to life (love the KPI's reference, so true!) - Parent
I wanted to thank you for arranging access to last night's webinar. I thought it was very well presented and provided some great research behind the concepts covered. We have implemented a few small changes that will help the kids handle the stress of lockdown, school and our recent move. I have signed up for the March seminar and am looking forward to learning more about assessments. We really enjoyed the seminar! - Teacher
The webinar is run live online from 6pm – 7pm where the presenter will share Elevate’s key research and skills, and will conduct a live Q&A so you can ask them questions directly.
