These packs are due back to the front office this week.
A letter and vaccination packs were recently sent home with Year 7 and Year 10 students.
Year 7 will have their first vaccination on 3 March 2022.
Year 10 will have their vaccination on 5 May 2022.
Year 7 will have their second vaccination on 8 September, along with any students in Year 10 who missed their vaccination on 5 May 2022.
If your child has not received their vaccination pack, please ask them to collect one from the front office.
Current Covid based restrictions do not enable students from the College to undertake general work experience. I will keep you informed of when the opportunity is available. The steps and documents required will also be outlined to support students to explore the world of work when restrictions allow.
CAREERS AT TRINITY CATHOLIC COLLEGE
Our school has a ‘School Careers Website’. You can find it at https://www.trinitycareers.com.au/
It’s a “One Stop Shop” for your child’s needs with their Career Planning, information, Senior School, Post School Options, Required Documents and much more.
Yr 10 - 12 students have been asked to create their own student accounts where they can create and save their resume, store their USI and plan and explore their transition to post school options. Yr 10 - 12 students are also receiving notifications of opportunities via a pastoral care Google Classroom page.
The site is also designed with you, the parent/caregiver in mind, to provide you with all the information you need about your child’s Career Planning and post school options as the information is constantly changing in these areas. I would encourage you to sign up to email notification on events that are happening via the Calendar of Events page across the state.
The Careers, Course and Scholarship widget on the home page also is a fantastic tool to explore potential options. The more students can research and explore options and interests the better placed they will be to make informed and positive decisions.
YEAR 12 2021 DESTINATION SURVEY
Yr 12 2021 Destination survey - let us know what you are up to! - If you are a Year 12 or know a Year 12 student from 2021 please encourage them to complete the destination survey.

Career planning for students on the autism spectrum – a webinar for parents and carers | Wednesday 9 March | 4.00pm (AEDT)
For 20 years, myfuture has been a trusted source of career information within the Australian education community providing content that is practical, targeted and developed by experts. As well as supporting students, teachers and career practitioners, myfuture provides tools and resources to help parents and carers support their child’s career exploration, engage them in career conversations, and raise awareness of post-school options.
In this Insights webinar, Associate Professor Marina Ciccarelli from Curtin University, and Cheryl Mangan from Autism CRC will provide information about the myWAY Employability evidence-based resources available to assist young people on the autism spectrum in transition planning, to build their employability, and maximise their potential.
Join us as the team from myWAY Employability discuss such topics as:
• Starting challenging conversations about the future
• Identifying personal strengths, interests, and sensory preferences to guide career exploration and work experiences
• Providing a just right challenge

SCHOOLTV: UNDERSTANDING ADOLESCENCE
This month on SchoolTV - Understanding Adolescence
Adolescence is the transitional stage of development that is usually associated with the teenage years. In 2018, the Australian Curriculum Assessment Authority, redefined adolescence as affecting young people aged between 10-24 years. During this time, they experience rapid physical, cognitive and psychosocial growth which affects how teenagers feel, think, make decisions and interact with the world around them.
During adolescence, a child's brain can be considered as being “under-construction”. The rate at which this progresses will vary depending on the individual and also their gender. As a result, some parents may view adolescence as stressful or difficult. However, it does not need to be. Setting boundaries, implementing consistent monitoring and maintaining a strong and loving connection will help families adjust during this time.
It is also an important time to keep the communication lines open through clear and age appropriate conversations. Speak openly about changes that they are experiencing and be conscious of their mental health as many of the conditions people confront in adulthood, can begin to manifest in adolescence.
In this edition of SchoolTV, adult carers can learn how to guide and best support their young person as they transition through adolescence. We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this month’s edition, and we always welcome your feedback.
If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact the school for further information or seek medical or professional help.

The College should be notified of any foreseen student leave. An Application for Exemption Form is available from the College Office and is required to be completed by parents/carers and returned to the College at least 10 school days prior to any leave. Leave or travel over 10 days requires a different form; please contact Reception. If, during the period of leave, your child has assessments due they should also complete the Notification of Planned Absence form which is in the appendix of their student assessment handbook.
When your child needs to leave School early, please make sure they complete the following steps:
1. A written note signed from their parent/carer. This note can be made in the Student diary on the day of the planned absence, or on a separate piece of paper.
2. The student then takes the note to Homeroom and asks their Homeroom teachers to sign it.
3. The note must also be signed by a House Coordinator.
4. The student comes to the front office with their signed note.
5. Front office staff assist student to sign out.
6. Students wait for parent/carer to collect them.
