Dear Parents and/or Caregivers
TRINITY RUGBY CLUB
There was lots of excitement on campus this week as rugby training commenced for the 2022 season. The College is really pleased to be offering rugby as an extra-curricular sporting opportunity for our young people. The Trinity Catholic College Rugby Club had its AGM last month with the following office bearers elected:
President Jason Moroney
Vice President Katie Schipp
Secretary Louise Seaman
Treasurer Rebecca McCormack
Thank you to each member of the executive committee for undertaking these important roles to ensure a continued bright future for Rugby at the College and in the wider Goulburn region.
An external players’ policy was approved by the Trinity Community Council last year. The policy allows students from other schools to play rugby for the Trinity Club. Students who move into the workplace will also be able to play for Trinity under this new policy.
Sophie Broadhead has been appointed to the position of Rugby Coordinator whilst Evan Rees is on leave. If you are keen for your child to participate in rugby or would like further information, please contact Sophie Broadhead by phone on 4821 3600 or via email sophie.broadhead@cg.catholic.edu.au .
NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST BULLYING
Students and teachers will be participating in the National Day of Action Against Bullying tomorrow during their pastoral period. Australian schools will stand united in their communities to celebrate the 12th National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA).
The theme for 2022 is Kindness Culture. By building Kindness Culture together, we can promote inclusion, respect and community belonging for all students at Trinity.
The National Day of Action is Australia’s key anti-bullying event for schools. Trinity Catholic College is registered as a National Day of Action school and we stand united against bullying and violence with school communities across the nation.
The national definition of bullying for Australian schools says:
Bullying is an ongoing and deliberate misuse of power in relationships through repeated verbal, physical and/or social behaviour that intends to cause physical, social and/or psychological harm. It can involve an individual or a group misusing their power, or perceived power, over one or more persons who feel unable to stop it from happening.
Bullying can happen in person or online, via various digital platforms and devices and it can be obvious (overt) or hidden (covert). Bullying behaviour is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time (for example, through sharing of digital records).
Bullying of any form or for any reason can have immediate, medium and long-term effects on those involved, including bystanders. Single incidents and conflict or fights between equals, whether in person or online, are not defined as bullying.
If you have concerns about bullying, please do not hesitate to make contact with the Year Coordinators, Assistant Principals or myself. Bullying is not tolerated at Trinity but we must work together to ensure a safe, welcoming community for all our students.

Our resident Youth Minister, Gerard Teng, engages the Trinity Youth Ministry Team during a lunchtime meeting with games, music, discussion, reflection and prayer.
Dear Parents and Carers
Lent is an important time in the liturgical calendar. It is a time for deep reflection and preparation for the events of Easter. Focusing on the pillars of Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving helps us to think carefully about the choices we make and how we approach our relationship with God.
The attached document is a series of readings, reflections and prayers to allow us to think more carefully about not only the journey of Jesus in his final days but also our own spiritual journeys; how we can choose a path that leads us to be our best selves.
We invite you to encounter the people and situations of Jesus' passion and consider what changes you might make to deepen your own faith or understanding of this significant season of the Church. These sessions may become a catalyst for meaningful conversations between you and your children, other family members or friends.
May this Lenten season bring about a positive change in the way we think about ourselves, and others.
