Dear Parents, Students and Staff
CAPA SHOWCASE
The CAPA Showcase was a wonderful celebration of the creative gifts and talents of our fabulous students; thank you to each of them. The Year 7 Mama Mia MashUp dance performance represented everything Trinity aspires to be as a welcoming and inclusive community. Thank you to our excellent Creative and Performing Arts faculty under the leadership of Mrs Clare Cummins; it was an extraordinary evening of entertainment. Thank you to Mrs Cody Poole, Miss Jasmine Craker, Mrs Tracey Burke and Miss Charlotte Lock for inspiring our students.
YEAR 7 2020 ORIENTATION DAY
Our incoming Year 7 students for 2020 are just delighful with the best manners! We had a great day and we are looking forward to them becoming full members of our community next year. Thank you to Miss Parlett for her coordination of this event very ably supported by our pastoral team of Mrs Shelley O'Brien, Mrs Katie Suro, Mr Paul Treloar, Mr Chris Arnold and Mrs Ally Dunwoodie. Thank you to Mrs Natalie Albury and Mrs Emma Treloar for organising our uniform packages for parents!
WELLBEING AND DIVERSITY IN 2020
Research shows that high levels of mental health are associated with increased learning, creativity and productivity, more pro-social behaviour and positive social relationships, and with improved physical health and life expectancy. We are currently reviewing our Wellbeing and Diversity policy with student wellbeing as its focus within our Trinity context. Three interconnecting areas are successful learning, safe and inclusive environment, and positive and caring relationships.
In this context, the approach to wellbeing and pastoral care at Trinity Catholic College Goulburn is based upon these beliefs:
- each person has gifts and is unique
- structures, procedures and practices should reflect espoused Gospel values
- quality, positive and respectful relationships are fundamental to effective learning and genuine pastoral care
- diversity is valued and all members of the school community feel respected and included
- wellbeing is central to learning
- every student is capable of successful learning
- wellbeing encompasses the total care of students and all others in the school community
- the responsibility of care is entrusted to all members of the school community
- parents, teachers and leaders play key roles in promoting wellbeing
- students are active partners in the development and achievement of their own wellbeing
(Catholic Schools Office Diocese of Maitland and Newcastle)
To better support the successful learning of students, their safety and their wellbeing, we are changing the current pastoral care structures. From 2020, if parents have any academic or wellbeing concerns regarding their child, you will be contacting Year Coordinators rather than House Coordinators.
Year 7 Coordinator/Keating House Mr Chris Arnold
Year 8 Coordinator/MacKillop House Mr John Galiazzo
Year 9 Coordinator/McAuley House Mr Paul Treloar
Year 10 Coordinator /Rice House Mrs Alexandra Dunwoodie
Senior Studies (Year 11 and 12 Coordinator) Mrs Katie Suro
As you can see from above, we are retaining the House system for homeroom and sporting carnivals. Further information will be provided next year.
2020 PLANNING
A request to any Year 7-11 families moving from Trinity Catholic College at the end of this year, it would greatly assist our preparation for 2020 if you would send an email to Kristie Miners, kristie.miners@cg.catholic.edu.au, as soon as possible indicating your intentions along with your destination. Much of this term is spent preparing for next year and our student numbers need to be accurate. Thank you for assisting us with this information gathering.
TERM 4 SCHOOL FEE PAYMENTS
Term 4 fee accounts have been forwarded to you. It would be very much appreciated if payment could be made as soon as possible. We are coming to the end of the year and prompt payment is appreciated. Thank you.
Please continue to pray for rain for our very parched earth.
May God bless you and your family
