College Community at the Catholic Mission Mass
Catholic Mission is the international mission agency of the Catholic Church in Australia. Compelled by the message, life and love of Jesus Christ, Catholic Mission forms Australians for mission and raises funds for mission in Australia and around the world.
Trinity's student leaders, Mackenzie, Luke, Tom and Jhy represented the whole College Community at the Catholic Mission Mass yesterday. Pope Francis announced October 2019 as the Extraordinary Missionary Month. The Theme is the Holy Father has chosen is ‘Baptized and Sent: The Church of Christ on a Mission in the World’.
Trinity will be participating in ‘Socktober' to raise awareness and funds for the work of Catholic Mission. On Thursday 31 October, Trinity will hold a crazy sock day and a ‘Rock Your Sock Off’ dance comp on the main lawn at lunch. Students are asked to bring in a gold coin donation and some extra cash for the bake sale that will also be held to raise funds.
Trinity's funds will go to support the work of Sister Stan Therese Mumuni who is the founder and director of the Nazareth Home for God’s Children in the Diocese of Yendi in Ghana. She has dedicated the past decade to rescuing children who are at risk and ensuring they havea brighter future. To find out more, please watch the following clip https://youtu.be/nxYaGqGimVI .
Niamh O’Rourke (10), Hayley Sterchow (10) and Emma Page (9) played in the ACT U16’s representative match on Friday 11 October.
The trials, training and games were held in Canberra and is the beginning of a pathway for the girls in representative rugby next season.
Charlotte Adam (8) & Blyss Burke (8) played for the ACT Country U14s against ACT City U14s, going down in the last minute to City.
The girls trialled in the ACT then travelled to Tathra for team training during the holidays.
It was designed to lead to a proposed pathway for ACT U15s next year with the hope of a girls team being sent to the NSW Championships.
All of the girls played exceptionally well on the day.
STUDENTS INVOLVED (LIST TO COME) WILL HAVE A FULL DAY INCURSION ON MONDAY 25 NOVEMBER.
This month on SchoolTV - Resilience
Resilience is one of those skills that all kids need and should have. It refers to their ability to cope and adapt in situations when confronted with challenges such as adversity, trauma, tragedy, or even stress. It is essential to their mental health and wellbeing as part of their journey to adulthood. It is a skill that can be learned from an early age through the support of an adult role model.
However, being resilient does not mean your child won't experience any difficulties, but it will better equip them to manage those situations. Over-protective parenting can be viewed as being unhelpful towards the building of resilience. Although this may be a natural instinct, potentially experiencing failure is all part of the process. Encouraging children to take healthy risks will help them trust their capacity to deal with uncomfortable situations and increase their capacity for courage.
In this edition of SchoolTV, parents will gain an understanding of how to support their child’s brave behaviour to help them adapt and build resilience. We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this month’s edition, and we always welcome your feedback.
If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact the school for further information or seek medical or professional help.

A message from Goulburn Touch Association: Every team that is entered into the Goulburn Touch competition must supply a duty referee. Teams must be aware of duties and, in the situation that the nominated referee is not available, it is the teams responsibility to provide another referee. Please note that teams will be withdrawn from the competition if they do not follow this rule.
The referee co-ordinator has suggested that those who are interested in becoming qualified should attend the Level 1 Referee course that will run in Goulburn on Saturday 16th November at 11am. The link to register is below.
