Thank you to Norma Hobbs, Donna McAleenan, Michelle Maunder and Sandra South who have worked very hard to ensure the exceptional cleanliness standards at our College over the last six weeks. Our school has been so thoroughly cleaned, it is almost like a hospital ward. Thank you again to each of them; we could not do what we do without their good labour in keeping students and teachers safe. We are encouraging students to maintain the appropriate health standards as advised by the medical experts. Each classroom is equipped with hand sanitiser to use when entering the room. Daily cleaning of door handles, handrails and bathroom areas has also increased. Social distancing of 1.5m is happening in the classroom and on the playground.
As per Government advice, we ask you to keep your children at home if possible. Our school is open to students of essential workers and those who are unable to provide care for their children. If your child is not well, they must not attend school. Should you need to send your child to school and have not already notified the school of your intention, please send an email to myself at principal.tccg@cg.catholic.edu.au . Please be aware we require three days notice if your child is returning to school. Time is required to arrange staffing to ensure a safe environment for everyone in our community. Even when learning at home, parents and carers must continue to inform the school if your child is unable to engage in learning due to illness or a specialist appointment. Please email this information to absence.tccg@cg.catholic.edu.au .
Students returning to school for remote learning this term must wear their full winter uniform including the wearing of the College blazer to and from school each day. Students can no longer wear their PE uniform to school as there are no practical PE lessons. The Uniform Shop will be open this afternoon from 3pm until 6pm. There will be signage on the ground outside the Uniform Shop to remind everyone of social distancing procotols.
If students are attending school for their remote learning, they are required to remain on campus until 3.20pm.
Please note if your child is remote learning at school, school does not conclude until 3.20pm.
If you have a child who commences Year 7 in 2021, please lodge an enrolment form as soon as you can. For further information, please contact Kristie Miners on 4821 3600.

SPECIAL REPORT: WELLBEING - CHECKLIST FOR SECONDARY STUDENTS
SPECIAL REPORT: Wellbeing - Checklist for Secondary Students
The global pandemic is having a profound impact on our adolescents with many being forced to miss out on so many rites of passage. Some are becoming more anxious or depressed which is completely understandable given the current situation. However, should your teen display any unusual behaviour that lasts for more than 2-3 weeks, it may be a cause for concern.
Research shows there are specific risk factors that increase the likelihood of teenagers developing a mental health problem. Some are set in stone, whilst others are modifiable. Adolescents are considered to be more at risk of anxiety and depression disorders which may affect their mood, thinking and behaviour. It can impact their ability to function and perform normal activities.
It is therefore vitally important for adult carers to remain vigilant during this time for any signs of distress, even though your adolescent may not have any prior history of a mental health disorder. Early intervention, diagnosis and treatment is more important than ever. In the current climate, one useful thing you can do is help your teen focus on the things that they can control –– such as their learning, diet, exercise and sleep.
In this Special Report, adult carers will be provided with a checklist that can be used a guide in determining if there is any cause for concern. We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this Special Report, and as always, we welcome your feedback.
If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact the school for further information or seek medical or professional help.
