If students are displaying flu-like symptoms at school, parents will be required to collect their child from school and have a COVID test. If students are unwell, they must remain at home. Please continue to inform the school via phone if your child tests positive for COVID.
GRANDPARENTS DAY PRAYER SERVICE

EQUESTRIAN VIRTUAL INTERSCHOOL EVENT
As much as Southern Highlands Christian School was looking forward to running our 3rd Annual event this year, the COVID-19 pandemic has meant some changes need to be made.
We know how hard our equestrian community will have been working revelling in those extra hours provided by homeschooling and we want to see the results. So, we are continuing to run an online competition!
Entries close on 31 July.

Rules
Dressage:
Dress in school equestrian uniform.
Plaiting is not required.
Hard hats and boots must be worn in all events.
Dressage to be ridden in 20 x 60 arena or marked out area.
Please zoom in and out - judge needs to be able to see you clearly!
Video all tests from C.
Video with sound on, callers only allowed for preparatory level.
Riders may ride more than one horse.
Tests must be consecutive levels.
Harness:
Tests to be done in 20 x 60 metre arena for ponies under 108 cm.
Tests maybe done in 40 x 80 metre arena for ponies over 108 cm.
Cones are precision marked not speed.
All drivers must wear hard hats and back protector and have an onboard groom.
Please video from B with sound on.
Novelty Events:
Either video or submit photos. If riding your pony hard hats must be worn. Boots to be worn in all events.
Dressage:
Preparatory C and Preparatory E
Preliminary 1.2 and Preliminary 1.3
Novice 2.2 and Novice 2.3
Elementary 3.2 and Elementary 3.3
Medium 4.1 and 4.2
Freestyle to music (maybe dress up hard hats and boots must be worn)

Maths Help Sessions will run on the following days at the listed times from the Library:

The Skills and Thrills Digital Parents Showcase is an engaging and informative 20 minute video created to highlight Vocational Education and Training (VET) and the success stories that emanate from VET pathways. The Digital Parents Showcase will help parents better understand vocational pathways, including apprenticeships/traineeships and school-based apprenticeships/traineeships, and gives parents the knowledge they need to help their children make informed career choices post high school.
SkillsOne has created a free video that parents can access to learn about the following;

Supporting this video, SkillsOne will be holding a live streamed Q&A panel discussion on the SkillsOne Facebook page on August 26 2020. Industry and education professionals will be available to answer parents’ pre-submitted questions.
HOW PARENTS CAN ACCESS THE CONTENT:

The College should be notified of any foreseen student leave. An Application for Exemption Form is available from the College Office and is required to be completed by parents/carers and returned to the College at least 10 school days prior to any leave. Leave or travel over 10 days requires a different form; please contact Reception. If, during the period of leave, your child has assessments due they should also complete the Notification of Planned Absence form which is in the appendix of their student assessment handbook.
Students should be wearing full Winter uniform including the wearing of their school blazer to and from school.
Students should return in full Summer Uniform on Tuesday 13 October - Term 4.
**All sizes of tracksuit pants are now in stock. Please note these are a more narrow fit and have elasticised cuffs, therefore students may need to go up a size.
The Uniform Shop is open on Thursdays from 3.00pm - 6.00pm. When visiting the uniform shop, you will be required to sign in.

Students can check homeroom bags for items
When your child needs to leave School early, please make sure they complete the following steps:
1. A written note signed from their parent/carer. This note can be made in the Student diary on the day of the planned absence, or on a separate piece of paper.
2. The student then takes the note to Homeroom and asks their Homeroom teachers to sign it.
3. The note must also be signed by a House Coordinator.
4. The student comes to the front office with their signed note.
5. Front office staff assist student to sign out.
6. Students wait for parent/carer to collect them.
Please note, parent or carer MUST present to the Office to collect student.
