A MESSAGE FROM MRS DILLON, OUR NEW CAREERS ADVISOR
Dear Parents and Carers
As you may know, I have taken over the role of Careers Advisor this year from Ms Naomi Gill. I will be the point of contact for questions and information regarding careers including Year 10 work experience, university entry, TAFE study, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBAT), and general careers guidance.
We had a very successful trip to Wollongong on Friday 19 February with 36 Year 12 students attending the UOW Discovery Day with myself and Mr Faught. A number of Year 12 students have commented that it was a very memorable and informative experience. Thank you to Mr Faught and all the students who attended for making it such a lovely day.
Year 10 Work Experience will take place in Week 9 of Term 4 this year. Students will be provided with further information and begin preparations for during Term 2.
Year 12 students are encouraged to think about their pathways for next year and book their 15-minute appointments with myself if they haven't already. Applications for ANU opened this week.
I am contactable via email at rebecca.dillon@cg.catholic.edu.au or through the school office on 4821 3600 for any questions.
Mrs Rebecca Dillon
Careers Advisor

The College should be notified of any foreseen student leave. An Application for Exemption Form is available from the College Office and is required to be completed by parents/carers and returned to the College at least 10 school days prior to any leave. Leave or travel over 10 days requires a different form; please contact Reception. If, during the period of leave, your child has assessments due they should also complete the Notification of Planned Absence form which is in the appendix of their student assessment handbook.
When your child needs to leave School early, please make sure they complete the following steps:
1. A written note signed from their parent/carer. This note can be made in the Student diary on the day of the planned absence, or on a separate piece of paper.
2. The student then takes the note to Homeroom and asks their Homeroom teachers to sign it.
3. The note must also be signed by a House Coordinator.
4. The student comes to the front office with their signed note.
5. Front office staff assist student to sign out.
6. Students wait for parent/carer to collect them.
Please note, parent or carer MUST present to the Office to collect student.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
