Congratualtions to Chanel Allwright and her sister Montanna on their recent success at Sutton Park in preparation for the Interschools ACT State Championships.
Congratulations to Trinity's Layla Kendrick and Ellie McGregor for their success in the Scottish Dancing Association competition today. Layla placed 4th in her title and Ellie 1st in hers.
Congratulations to James Croker and Nash Brackenrig who were in the Under 15 Rugby League "President's Team" that competed in the NSWCCC Rugby League trials last week.
Well done to our students who competed in the Archdiocesan Teams Tennis Tournament. The girls gave their best efforts, but were up against strong competition. The boys managed to win the tournament and will now progress to the NSWCCC tournament in Bathurst on Monday 31st May.
Well done to all the Trinity students who attended and a big congratulations to the 5 Trinity Aged Champions!
ROUND 4 RESULTS 22/5/21
U13 Boys
Rivett Oval, Canberra
Trinity 29 (Will Baragry 3, Angus Crockford and Darcy Simmons tries. Will Baragry 2 conversions) def by Royals 41.
Trinity were represented by.
1 Travis Channell, 2. Jack Quinlan, 3. Callum Muldrew, 4. Darcy Simmons, 5. Alexander Picker, 6. Jack Blyth, 7. Chris Watson, 8. Angus Crockford, 9. Callum Booth, 10. William Baragry, 11. Dylan Grandovskis, 12. Noah Foley, 13. Isaac Charles, 14. Aimon Payne, 15. Ryan Cachia, 16. Riley Hudson-Gardner. Absent: Lachlan Stein, Jachob Payne, Xavier Wakefield, Sam Dooley.
Trinity’s U13 boys are improving their performances every week. They travelled to Royals with only one reserve in round 4. Within the first 10 minutes of the match, they lost a player to a red card for a dangerous tackle, leaving them with only fourteen on the paddock. They rallied well and even led on the scoreboard with 10 minutes remaining. Playing with a man down was too much in the end with Royals running in two late converted tries. Will Baragry led the way again with a personal haul of 19 points. We look forward to watching this teams’ improvement throughout the season, although they face a tough test in their first home match of the season against St Edmunds Black this coming Saturday.
U14 Girls
Wexted Oval, Trinity
Trinity 36 (Molly Baxter 2, Molly Chamberlain, Brianna Hounslow, Shaekiesha McMahon and Emma Seaman tries. Molly Baxter 3 conversions) def Jindabyne 15.
Trinity were represented by.
1. Brianna Hounslow, 2. Tamia Corby, 3. Merrin Eagles, 4. Shaekiesha McMahon, 5. Molly Baxter, 6. Emma Seaman, 7. Meg Toparis, 8. Charlotte Writer, 9. Molly Chamberlain, 10. Ellie McCormack ,11. Lillian Turgeon, 12. Bobby Remington, 13. Ella-Jane Bojc. Injured: Elsie Apps, Tamika Straney, and Lucy Cairns.
The Trinity U14 Girls put together a great display of running rugby on Trinity’s Wexted Oval defeating Jindabyne 36–15. Trinity retained the ball for most of the first half and dominated proceedings. However, once Jindabyne got some possession, they managed to put the Trinity team on the backfoot. 3 wins from their first 4 matches has given the girls a lot of confidence and we look forward to watching their progression.
U14 Boys
Rivett Oval, Canberra
Trinity 5 (Sam Moller try) def by Royals 65.
- Raphael Palmer, 2. Max Stephenson, 3. Jimmy Humphries, 4. Jack Blyth, 5. Bailey Craig, 6. Chris Watson, 7. Sam Moller, 8. Tai O’Brien, 9. Zani Skeffington (C), 10. Milo Edmunds, 11. Dominic Torley, 12. Sebastian Gerstner, 13. Lewis Green, 14. Clint Channell, 15. Ben Gianfelici. Absent: Jordan Frew. Injured: Jonah Alaia, Max Charles and Austin Moriarty.
Another tough weekend for our U14 boys, going down to a big and physical Royals outfit 65-5. This team has faced adversity since the start of the season. Three of their players remain injured on the sidelines, leaving the team short of players on the field. Although, down on numbers the boys continue to show plenty of character and turn up for each other every week. Another tough assignment awaits this Saturday at home against St Edmunds Black.
U15 boys
Marist College #4
Trinity 17 (Nash Brackenrig. Campbell McCormack and Kane Widders tries. James Croker 1 conversion) def by Marist 21.
Trinity were represented by.
1. William Cummins, 2. Charlie Small, 3. Kane Crooks, 4. Nash Brackenrig, 5. Harry Waters, 6. Reid Thompson, 7. Campbell McCormack, 8. Bailey Rudd, 9. Noah Falson, 10. James Croker, 11. Jaden Van Bilsen, 12. Ethan Hunt, 13. Kane Widders, 14. Cayden Tiyce, 15. Rohan Gamble, 16. Jacob Griffiths, 17. Duke Shepherd.
Trinity U15 Boys travelled to Canberra for their Round 4 game against Marist after a forfeit in Round 3. The first half was slow and low in energy for Trinity, and they finished the first half scoreless at 14-0. The second half saw them putting together some coordinated plays resulting in tries to Nash Brackenrig, Campbell McCormack and Kane Widders. One try was converted by James Croker with the other two unsuccessful. Final score was 21-17 to Marist.
U16
Wexted Oval, Trinity
Trinity 85 (Charlie Moroney 3, Declan Stubbs 3, Patrick Craig 2, Joshua Evans, Charlie Hayes, Jude Falson, Thomas Skeffington, Connor Hughes tries. Charlie Moroney 7 and Joshua Evans 3 conversions) def Easts Barbarians 5.
Trinity were represented by.
1 Connor Hughes, 2. William Barker, 3. Ben Ishimwe, 4. Seth Kennedy, 5. Simon Leach, 6. Toby Moller, 7. Noah Bartlett, 8. Brendan O’Rourke, 9. Sam Minehan, 10. Thomas Skeffington, 11. Christian Bugeja, 12. Declan Stubbs, 13. Charlie Hayes, 14. Jude Falson, 15. 16. Josh Clark, 17. Matt Seaman, 18. Charlie Moroney, 19. Pat Craig 20. Bailey Shipp, 21. Levi Willoughby. Injured: Joseph Simmons. Absent: Isaac White.
Trinity’s U16 boys were far too strong for the visiting Easts Barbarians on Wexted Oval. Although going away from their usual structured play, the Trinity boys played good ‘heads up’ rugby with plenty of good support play. The boys remain undefeated heading into round 5.
1ST X (U18 girls)
Wexted Oval, Trinity
Trinity 41 (Emma Barclay 3, Niamh O’Rourke 2, Jasmine Bes and Louise Story tries. Emma Barclay 2, Louise Story 1 conversion) def Vikings 32.
Trinity were represented by.
- Tess McKenzie, Georgie Chandler, 3. Jenna McAleenan, 4. Hayley Sterchow, 5. Emma Barclay, 6. Niamh O’Rourke, 7. Cassi Law, 8. Lily Woodman, 9. Jessica Madden, 10. Maddy Campbell, 11, Jasmine Bes, 12. Emily Madden, 13. Charlotte Baragry, 14. Georgie Chandler, 15. Liz Keo, 16. Ellie Coggan, 17. Chanel Allright.
Absent: Emma Page.
Trinity’s 1ST X found themselves behind 15-0 within the first quarter of Saturday’s match. Vikings started strongly with some very strong defence and ball running, however Trinity finished over the top of their much bigger rivals. Trinity’s fitness prevailed as they ran in 7 tries to finish over the top. Emma Barclay scored 3, while Niamh O’Rourke continued her try scoring form with 2.
