Dear Parents and Carers, Students and Staff,
TRINITY SUNDAY LAST WEEKEND
Last Sunday a number of staff and students attended Mass at the Cathedral to celebrate Trinity Sunday. Trinity Sunday celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, our College’s name. It is from the Trinity that we derive our motto of Faith, Strength and Unity. In the parish bulletin last weekend, Fr Michael Tate’s reflection was included:
We are humans created in the image of God. If our idea of God is wrong then we can imagine ourselves in a way which is dangerously dehumanising.
If we think of God as a solitary Being then we might imagine the best way of being human is being solitary, self-sufficient, independent of others. However, Jesus Christ revealed a different way for the eyes of faith to see God.
He had a most intimate communion with ‘Abba’, Father, and he had such a close relationship with the Holy Spirit that his very breathing on his disciples imparted this breath of God upon them. The early Church was forced to conclude that Being and Relationship were both fundamentally primordial and true of the Tri-une God, or the Trinity for short.
Now if we are created into this image of God, then our very existence needs to be relational for us to be fully human in this life and the next. To be totally self-absorbed is to consign oneself to a Hellish existence. To be open to communion with God, with other human beings and the whole of creation is to enjoy a Heavenly existence.
We can take a moment to pray to thank God for this revelation not granted to, or at least not believed by other great world religions. We thank Jesus Christ for satisfying our yearning to know about our Creator, and helping us to understand what it is to be fully human. May we recall this every time we dip our fingers in the holy water font on entering a church remembering our baptism: In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Our school theme this year reminds us of a similar message: “Let us keep a place for Christ in our lives, let us care for one another and let us be loving custodians of creation.” (Pope Francis)
INFORMATION EVENINGS
We had a great attendance at our Year 11-2022 Subject Selection Information Evening. Various universities were represented along with Karen Ruppert from Catholic Education’s Registered Training Organisation who was able to help many students with transition pathway information. Our Subject Coordinators and Course Subject Teachers were also available to provide advice about subject selection. Thank you to all involved and thank you to Ms Lauren Shinfield for providing the latest information about NESA requirements for Year 11 and Year 12. Year 10 students have been emailed their webcode to complete their preferred subject selections. After selecting compulsory English and Religious Education courses, students must select their most preferred subject to least preferred subject. Subject Selection closes next Tuesday 8 June 2021.
The Year 9-2022 Elective Information Evening was held on Tuesday with another great turnout. Again thank you to our Subject Coordinators and Course Subject Teachers who could attend this evening.
Year 12 Parent Teacher Interviews will be held next Tuesday 8 June 2021 from 4pm until 6pm in the Great Hall. Bookings can be made through the parent portal until next Monday 7 June 2021 at 3.30pm.
NATIONALLY CONSISTENT COLLECTION OF DATA (NCCD) ON SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH DISABILITY
Our school is participating in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (Data Collection). This Data Collection is taking place in Catholic, Government and Independent schools across Australia, and will provide valuable information about supports required for a broad group of students. This will enable Australian and State governments, to better target and support resources in schools. This in turn will help students with disability and additional needs the support they need. The Data Collection is not limited to students with diagnosed disabilities. It uses a very broad definition of disability taken from the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, which describe a broad range of health and learning conditions for which schools are required to provide ‘reasonable adjustments’ to support students to participate on the same basis as other students. The Data Collection will take place this term and usually includes de-identified information for students who have individualised personal learning plans. No personal or identifying information about any student will be included, however if you decide you do not wish information about your child included in the data collection you are asked to contact Mrs Shelley O’Brien, our Wellbeing and Diversity Coordinator to discuss your concerns.
2022 ENROLMENTS
Our enrolment drive for 2022 has already begun. The official enrolment period for Catholic Schools in this Archdiocese concluded last Friday 28 May. However, in regional areas we continue to take enrolments, so if you have a child entering Year 7 next year, please contact Reception for an enrolment form. An interview will be organised once the enrolment application is received. If your friends have a child commencing in Year 7 next year, please encourage them to consider Trinity as an option for their child’s education. There is provision for an online enrolment which can be accessed through our website at the following address: https://www.trinitycollege.nsw.edu.au/enrol-online/
Happy weekend and best wishes to all our sporting teams!
Yours in faith, strength and unity

TCCG STRATEGIC GOALS 2021
- To improve student learning through building teacher capacity, using data to inform classroom teaching and learning, and strengthening leadership in learning.
- To improve wellbeing (staff and students).
- To be an explicitly Catholic community welcoming to all.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen
ROUND 5 RESULTS 29/5/21
U13 Boys
Saturday 29th May 2021
Wexted Oval, Trinity
Trinity 5 (Angus Crockford Try) def by St Edmunds 56
Trinity was represented by:
1. Callum Muldrew, 2. Lachlan Stein, 3. Sam Dooley, 4. Darcy Simmons, 5. Jack Blyth, 6. Jack Quinlan, 7. Chris Watson, 8. Angus Crockford, 9. Callum Booth, 10. William Baragry, 11., 12. Noah Foley, 13. Isaac Charles, 14. Aimon Payne, 15. Ryan Cachia, 16. Riley Hudson-Gardner, Xavier Wakefield.
Trinity’s U13 boys showed a lot of ticker on Saturday against a much bigger St Edmunds Black division team. The boys first home match of the season and first performance on Wexted Oval was an outstanding exhibition of persistence and courage. Although being well beaten on the scoresheet, they earned the respect of everyone present including their opposition. Keep at it boys and keep practising and the results will come with improved skills and execution.
U14 Girls
Saturday 29th May 2021
Wexted Oval, Trinity
Trinity 82 (Ellie McCormack 3, Lillian Turgeon 3, Molly Baxter 2, Molly Chamberlain, Brianna Hounslow, Shaekiesha McMahon, Meg Toparis, Bobby Remington and Merrin Eagles tries. Molly Baxter 6 conversions) def Grammar 0.
Trinity was represented by.
1 Lillian Turgeon, 2. Tamia Corby, 3. Brianna Hounslow, 4. Shaekiesha McMahon, 5. Molly Baxter, 6. Emma Seaman, 7. Meg Toparis, 8. Tamika Straney, 9. Molly Chamberlain, 10. Ellie McCormack, 11. Merrin Eagles, 12. Bobby Remington, 13. Ella-Jane Bojc. Injured: Elsie Apps, and Lucy Cairns. Absent: Charlotte Writer
The U14 Girls have shown improvement in each of their matches. This was evident after their dominating display against a team that beat them convincingly in a trial match earlier in the year. It is a credit to the team management and all the girls for their continued commitment to training.
They travel to Grammar next week to take on the same opponents. It will be interesting to see the return result on the road.
U14 Boys
Wexted Oval, Trinity
Trinity 0 def by St Edmunds 81.
1. Jordan Frew, 2. Charlie Small, 3. Jimmy Humphries, 4. Raphael Palmer, 5. Sam Moller, 6. Clint Channell, 7. Tai O’Brien, 8. Kane Widders, 9. Zani Skeffington (C), 10. Milo Edmunds, 11. Dominic Torley, 12. Sebastian Gerstner, 13. Lewis Green, 14. Ben Gianfelici, 15. Max Stephenson, 16. Noah Falson, 17. Campbell McCormack. Absent: Bailey Craig. Injured: Max Charles, Jonah Alaia, and Austin Moriarty.
With the U14 boys ACTJRU competition all being combined, we can expect some lopsided score lines. Trinity’s boys are very inexperienced, with several of them playing their first season of Rugby. St Edmunds Black are a team made up of seasoned campaigners and proved far too strong for our lads. Keep your heads-up boys and keep turning up for each other, work hard at training and keep improving your skills.
U15 Boys
Wexted Oval, Trinity
Trinity 32 (Nash Brackenrig. Campbell McCormack and Kane Widders tries. James Croker 1 conversion) def Grammar 12.
Trinity was represented by:
1. William Cummins, 2. Charlie Small, 3. Kane Crooks, 4. Nash Brackenrig, 5. Harry Waters, 6. Reid Thompson, 7. Campbell McCormack, 8. Bailey Rudd, 9. Noah Falson, 10. James Croker, 11. Jaden Van Bilsen, 12. Ethan Hunt, 13. Kane Widders, 14. Cayden Tiyce, 15. Rohan Gamble, 16. Jacob Griffiths, 17. Duke Shepherd 18. Christian Bugeja, 19. Levi Willoughby, 20. Brendan O’Rourke.
Round 5 saw the Trinity U15 boys play Grammar on their home ground.
The first half saw both sides going try for try. There were some big hits by Kane Crooks and hard runs from Kane Widders. After a stern talking to at half time the Trinity boys fired into action and played some smart footy. All involved would agree there is always room for improvement and every game is testament to that.
Try scorers were:
James Croker - 3. Conversions -1
Nash Brackenrig - 2
Campbell McCormack - 1
U16 boys
